"Juanita’s is where my friends and I would grab a bite after surfing in high school, and it’s where we meet during the holidays when we’re all home. It has a ton of character -- from the bars on the windows to the stickers on the walls -- and the Baja-style tacos are perfect."

"From its humble beginnings in 2006 as an Austin food truck, I can honestly say you have not lived if you haven’t ordered from Torchy’s secret menu and tried an Ace of Spades. It’s a ‘change your taco life’ experience — A jalapeño sausage link, grilled brisket, a fried egg, green chile queso, cilantro, cotija cheese, sour cream, and diablo served on a flour tortilla."

"A near derelict riverboat moored in the Black River, there’s no better place to whittle away a summer afternoon in Michigan. Sidle up to the top deck bar, grab a Bell’s Oberon, and watch the boats meander through the marina."

"Asia Market is where I buy all of my favorite Asian snacks. When I can’t find something, I beg the owner, Ms. Chen, to import them. And she does! From my favorite brand of Haw slices and fruit rollups from Beijing, to the Pinky brand of peach mint from Japan, Ms. Chen made Asia Market a mecca for Asian snack enthusiasts. My latest obsession includes the Luoshi Noodle and Panda Ice Cream Bar -- limited to 5 units per person per purchase. It’s the only place in Austin that has them!"
